Tesla's Roadster can fly. Can you actually buy one in Singapore?
Jump over the jam on the CTE, then queue for a parking lot. Even a flying Tesla has to deal with Singapore eventually.
You can reserve the new Tesla Roadster through Tesla’s Singapore website. But you can’t buy one for delivery now, and the current left-hand-drive specification is a barrier to registering it here.
What’s new about Tesla’s flying Roadster?
At its 15 October reveal in Texas, the redesigned Roadster drove upside down on a ramp, launched into the air and landed using thrusters. Tesla is targeting production in 2028, after years of delays. Reuters’ reveal report.
Fans suck air from underneath to increase grip. Cold-gas thrusters add acceleration; the Rocket version adds lift and rotation. Spectacular, yes. A flying commute over the CTE hasn’t been established.

Only Rocket gets the full flight system. Tesla says it isn’t approved for public-road use. Thrust’s advertised sub-1-second 0–100km/h time is Tesla’s claim, not our test result. Tesla’s variant descriptions.
How much does a Roadster reservation cost in Singapore?
These are the Singapore website’s displayed payments, checked on 18 October 2026:

Rocket has no public reservation amount. These deposits aren’t the selling prices. Tesla hasn’t announced the redesigned car’s final price, so there’s no confirmed Singapore price including COE and taxes.
The form says reservations aren’t final until payment arrives and may be cancelled if payment isn’t completed within 10 days. Check Tesla’s live Singapore reservation page.

Can you register the Tesla Roadster in Singapore?
Tesla currently lists it as left-hand-drive only. LTA’s standard car-import guide requires right-hand drive for registration. On those published requirements, this specification doesn’t qualify for ordinary local registration. Tesla’s Singapore page, LTA’s guide, page 7.
So, reservation: yes. A confirmed Singapore road car: no. We’d want written confirmation of local registration eligibility and delivery terms before sending $70,000 anywhere (our car budget is considerably less exciting).
